Who would have thought that surfers would try to catch the perilous cold waves of the Great North, instead of opting for the sandy beaches of the Pacific coast? Well, Ingólfur Már Olsen (“Ingo“) and Hreinn Eliasson (“Rain“), two born and bred Icelanders, decided that no wave of the Arctic's turbulent deep blue sea is too great for them.
Located in the polar region at the northernmost part of the Earth, the Arctic has become the playground of this one-of-a-kind surfer duo, whose passion is to wake up in the half-light every morning of their lives for the sake of surfing and living free with pounding hearts, souls at play.
“Surfing, the sport itself, it's traveling, it's outdoor, it's nature and it's healthy, it's fitness. So it's a perfect thing to do,“ explained Ingo, who can't get enough of surfing the ends of the world. A few years ago, the two die-hard adventurous surfers turned their passion into a real mission and founded Arctic Surfers – Iceland's one-and-only surfing tour operator that fills you with the joys of chasing and catching waves under nature's most extreme conditions.
