In Parajumpers’ latest collection, a contemporary spin on the concept of heritage emphasizes natural materials and iconic pieces
The word ‘heritage’ comes from heriter, meaning ‘to inherit’: something handed down, bequeathed, granted. It’s a conversation between past and future generations, a promise that something will last far beyond the current moment. In Parajumpers’ CONTEMPORARY CLASSICS collection, the brand embraces its storied heritage and explores the timelessness of its classic pieces.
Set against the backdrop of the bucolic English countryside, the collection asks us to explore our interactions with the natural world. The fabrics used – leather, wool and down – invite our touch, offering an inextricable fusion of the contemporary and the traditional.
Plush, sculptural jackets provide a modern take on classic puffers. In the Men’s collection, we find Ugo, from the Super Lightweight series. Crafted from matte-finish taffeta with a water-repellent treatment and filled with duck down, it’s finished with iconic Parajumpers details such as the sleeve patch and yellow tape. These are featured on the Reloaded series’ Duke, which combines nylon poplin fabrics in garment-dyed tones for a vintage feel, while our Koto jacket has an oversized, branded hood.
At the heart of every Parajumpers collection is our beloved Masterpiece series: with their down fill, critically taped seams and inimitable parachute hook, our Kobuk gilet and Fire jacket are ruggedly cool.
For women, Naadz offers an oversized, down-filled spin on the bomber jacket. Made from a silky polyester-cotton twill, it features snap button pockets and a statement zip-sleeve pocket.
The women’s collection also presents a hybrid jacket in Yole, which marries lucent padded taffeta with jersey fleece for a look that’s cozy, practical and effortlessly stylish.
The collection sees the contemporary possibilities of wool take centre stage, with modern silhouettes offering a spin on the traditional fabric.
See our Takuji hybrid, which combines a down fill with wool arms – ideal for trans-seasonal dressing.
In knitwear, the men’s collection features Ettore, a thick rib-knit sweater made from ultra-fine Merino wool, while the women’s offers two exquisitely soft Alpaca knits: the hooded Tory sweater, with its integrated balaclava, and the casually oversized turtleneck Dalida. Wool is integral, too, to our range of accessories: think our cozy Rib Hat and Plain Scarf, both crafted from luxurious Merino.
The collection also focuses on the radical versatility of leather and shearling. This means Alf, which combines supple lambskin with padded polyester inserts. The result? A new interpretation of the classic flying biker jacket that’s as warm as it is light, as comfortable as it is stylish. It’s joined by Josh, whose pre-aged patina, shearling collar and zip pockets offer the perfect fusion of modern and traditional aesthetics.
With its contemporary spin on heritage pieces, the collection offers a promise to the future, a commitment to quality, longevity and excellence. These are modern icons; these are CONTEMPORARY CLASSICS.
