PRODUCT CARE
GENERAL CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
It's always a good idea to follow the care instructions on the care label inside your garment. Please check them carefully before cleaning your Parajumpers item. Depending on the type of fabric, fill and details, the recommended type of washing can vary. In any case, before cleaning your garment or taking it to the launderer, please remove all the detachable accessories, including the fur trims, and store them in a safe place.
If your coat has a detachable lining, we suggest you wash the two parts separately. Due to the characteristics of certain types of fabrics, please remember that some colours might bleed, so we suggest you always wash your jacket separately and avoid soaking or rubbing. Avoid using harsh stain removers.
MACHINE-WASHING AND DRYING
OUTERWEAR
If the washing symbol on the care label says that your coat can be machine-washed, please wash it at 30° on a gentle cycle. We suggest you wash the garment inside out. Please note that “Eco Mode” cycles that use less water are not suitable for padded jackets. The synthetic leather parts at the end of the zippers will not get damaged by washing the garment in water.
There is no particular brand of soap that we recommend, just please make sure it is a mild one. Do not use softener and rinse well.
At the end of the washing cycle, spin the garment thoroughly – if needed, twice – so as to get rid of as much water as possible, then lay it on a flat surface to dry and remember to fluff the down up from time to time by patting it gently, just to make sure it isn't drying all clumped up in a ball. It needs to be separated so that it can regain its “loft”, but will dry perfectly if laid flat in a warm room or outside (In the shade) for an adequate lapse of time. Please remember that direct sunlight can cause fading.
It's true that the easiest way to dry a down-filled garment in winter is in a dryer with a couple of clean tennis balls to fluff up the fill. However, it must be set on LOW heat setting and the garment must be removed immediately at the end of the drying cycle so that the fabric is not left resting on the hot drum. This would cause the garment to shrink.
If you prefer to have it cleaned professionally, you should ask the cleaner to wash it in water and not dry-clean it.
FLEECES AND T-SHIRTS
Fleeces and t-shirts might also have a detachable accessory, so please remove it before washing. Turn the garment inside out and wash it at 30° on a gentle cycle.
HAND-WASHING
Delicate garments, such as knitwear, should be hand-washed and not rubbed or left to soak. Squeeze the garment gently and lay it on a flat surface in the shade to dry.
PROFESSIONAL WET CLEANING
When the circle that normally indicates dry-cleaning has a W inside, this means that professional wet cleaning is recommended. This is mainly for garments that need special care during the drying process, due to the presence of fabrics with particular coatings that should not be dry-cleaned and that need to be dried in professional dryers.
DRY CLEANING
If the washing symbol on the care label of your garment is crossed out and the dry-cleaning symbol is not, your garment must be dry-cleaned, using the correct solvent, according to the letter printed inside the symbol – P (tetrachloroethylene) or F (hydrocarbon solvents).
PARAJUMPERS PRODUCT CARE
To store your Parajumpers garment in the best possible way:
1) Please make sure your PJS is cleaned thoroughly. All remains of dirt, sweat and oils will degrade the fabrics. Please refer to the care label of your garment and follow our cleaning instructions.
2) Air your garment on a wide hanger in a dry, dark environment before covering it in a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust and dirt.
3) Avoid compressing your PJS jacket into crammed spaces.
4) If your garment is going to be kept in a tight space, please remove the detachable fur first and hang it separately in a plastic bag to avoid it getting squashed. After a long period of storage, the garment can be tumble dried on LOW HEAT with a couple of clean tennis balls to help the down regain its loft.
